What is Monaghan United Cavan Football Partnership?
Monaghan United Cavan Football Partnership is an exciting and unique development in Ireland bringing together the two main Football entities in the Region to provide a football experience at National level for the young emerging players of the area. It is a partnership of Monaghan United Football Club and Cavan Monaghan Underage League, formed in April 2015, to provide a platform for Underage Players in the Cavan Monaghan Region and hinterland to experience the highest levels in Football in Ireland. The Partnership is formed to compete in the Football Association of Ireland Airtricity Underage Leagues and has been accepted as a member of the FAI National Underage League. In 2015, the Partnership will compete at Under 17 level in the FAI National League, in the Northern Region, with Bohemians, Derry City, Drogheda United, Dundalk, Finn Harps and Shelbourne
How does it Work?
The Partnership is a football entity under the direct control of Monaghan United FC and Cavan Monaghan Underage League, whose Management Committees set Partnership policy, establish Budgets, appoint Team Management and empower an Operations Committee to administer the Partnership on a day to day basis.

The formation of Monaghan Utd Cavan Football Partnership establishes a broad community Football movement, drawn from all parts of counties Cavan and Monaghan. It will provide the opportunity for young people from every parish and ethnic origin to achieve their full football potential by through professional coaching from top Coaching Professionals and with the experience of competitive football at the highest level in the Country in a National League. This Partnership has the support of all Clubs in both Counties involved in developing Underage football and truly embraces the entire football family.
WHAT DO THE PARTNERS BRING TO THE TABLE?
Both Partners have a record of providing an extensive service to the Football Communities of Cavan and Monaghan over many years. Monaghan United FC has the experience of competing at League of Ireland level for over 30 years, has a Stadium and infrastructure that meets FAI criteria for National Competition and an underage structure since 1988. Monaghan United has approx 250 underage playing members and provides training/playing facilities for over 2,000 persons weekly at its 14 acre Gortakeegan home. Monaghan United’s Gortakeegan complex is the designated FAI Regional Centre. Cavan Monaghan Underage League is a formation by the Clubs in the communities of Counties Cavan and Monaghan. It administers structured Underage League Football for the Cavan Monaghan Region since 2000. There are now in excess of 2100 players Under 18 playing in competition organised by the League which also administers an Emerging Talent Programme at all age levels, where elite players are developed into League Representative Squads to compete at various inter League level competitions.
